The Ethan Klancnik Memorial Kids Race to support Tay-Sachs Awareness and Prevention will be run in his honor, fulfilling Ethan’s wish to create more awareness and support for families dealing with Tay-Sachs and other rare genetic disorders.
Kids 9 and under will have two opportunities to participate for FREE at the 2017 Armed Forces Cycling Classic.
The Kids Race begins approximately 11:35 am, just prior to the start of the start of Men’s Pro race each day.
The Clarendon Cup and Crystal Cup Kids Race are presented by BikeArlington.
BikeArlington is excited to sponsor the 2017 Armed Forces Cycling Classic Kids Bike Races in Clarendon on Saturday, June 10th. Children are the future of our community and instilling in them from a young age that biking is a fun and efficient way to get around the County is a benefit for all Arlingtonians!
BikeArlington is an effort to build on an existing partnership between citizens, businesses and local government in Arlington County, Virginia, to encourage more people to bike more often in Arlington. BikeArlington is a program of Arlington County Government’s Commuter Services bureau with the aim of getting more people to ride more often, for commuting, to run errands, for recreation and exercise, and just as simple and healthy way to have fun.
BikeArlington is a combined effort of many – from moms and dads advocating for safe routes to schools, to County staff building safer streets and intersections, to business owners, urban designers, park planners and event planners working to create places and events that welcome people on bikes.
