Free Kids Bike Races June 2024
in Crystal City & Clarendon Now Open!
The Kids Bike Races, Crystal City (Saturday), and Clarendon (Sunday) part of the 2024 Armed Forces Cycling Classic proudly brought to you by the Boeing Company, June 1-2.
Kids 9 and under will have two opportunities to participate for FREE at the 2024 Armed Forces Cycling Classic Kids Races.
We held our first kids race in 1999, with just one child participating, but since that inaugural year, we have had thousands participate! Hundreds will be on hand again this year!

To register your child, please select the KIDS RACE REGISTRATION button, and complete the form.
Unless your child has a BikeReg account, please use the “Register as a Guest” option. Use your child’s First and Last name as the “Participant Contact Information”, along with their date of birth and gender.
Parents/Guardians will be required to provide an e-signature to agree to the terms of the waiver. We are using the BikeReg platform in order to avoid the need to sign waivers in person during packet pick-up on race day.
Here are some key details to help keep things moving smoothly:
You will be signing your child/children’s electronic waiver and instructions for day-of protocol and procedures. You will need to check-in the day of the event to receive participant race bib(s).
NOTE: You CAN register your child on the day of the race at both locations.
Race Day Protocol
Saturday, June 1st, Crystal City, 11:40 am-3 Heats
Kids Race Tent and Staging: 12th St. South and Army Navy Drive
We will open Kids Race Registration tent at 10 am for questions, bib number pick-up for preregistration as well as new, day-of registrants.
Start Assembling and Lining Up approximately at 11:15 am: The oldest/most experienced kids will line up first behind the HEAT 1 sign, followed by the HEAT 2 group. These groups will both do one lap (see the course map below). HEAT 3 (trikes/pushbikes/training wheels) will line up behind the HEAT 3 sign (about 100m from the s/f line).
The first heat will begin. When the final rider from Heat 1 hits turn 1, the second heat will depart. After the LAST rider in Heat 2 passes the Heat 3 group, we will line up the Heat 3 kids, and give them an official start.
Finish Line & Medals: Please meet your kids about 25 meters after the finish line.
Parents Meet Up with Kids: Please be ready to meet up with your kids past the S/F line, at turn one. We will usher the kids off the course after they receive their medal, towards the Expo. We need all kids to quickly leave the course so we can begin lining up the Pros.
Sunday, June 2nd, Clarendon, 11:40 am-3 Heats
Kids Race Tent and Staging: On Wilson Blvd near Highland Street (in front of 3101 Wilson Blvd.)
We will open Kids Race Registration tent at 10 am for questions, bib number pick-up for preregistration as well as new, day-of registrants.
Start Assembling and Lining Up approximately at 11:15 am: The oldest/most experienced kids will line up first behind the HEAT 1 sign, followed by the HEAT 2 group. Finish Line & Medals: Please meet your kids about 25 meters after the finish line at Hudson St where they will receive their finishing medals, after which we will divert them into the park.
We need all kids to safely & quickly leave the course so we can begin lining up the Pros.
